Hi. Good snowy day to you! So....this isn't something I sewed, but I'm derned proud of it, so I'm putting it up here anyway. My dad is currently in the middle of building himself a shop to make his knives in, and my mom decided she wanted something nice for the yard out of the deal. With all the extra dirt from construction around, raised garden beds was the request! I decided to role up my sleeves and make one (actually I was indulging my fantasy of being a carpenter...) for her. With a TON of help from Kevin. I didn't want to admit I needed his help, but apparently there is some advantage to having brute muscle on your side.

Here's me, trying to cut the

planks on my own. Ha.

And the neighbor's dogs that insisted on barking at me every moment I was outside.

Then I realized I needed Kevin.

Yay for Husband!

Ta-da! We never got a 'finished picture, but I looked out this morning at the surprise dumping of snow to see a tiny snow-covered mountain (as my mom called it!) in the box, so here 'tis!

My mom's rarin' to get the dirt in and do some wonderful Washington winter gardening. She might have to wait till the snow is gone though...

Anyway, there's EXCITEMENT at this house about our great and wonderful box-building accomplishments!
